6 Puzzle Types Kids Can Actually Solve
- Shift cipher: shift each letter back 3. Give a decoder strip so it's about pattern-finding, not frustration.
- Table reading: "find the lowest tide." It teaches comparing numbers.
- Riddle acrostic: the first letters of the answers spell the clue.
- Grid map: "start at the palm, 2 north, 3 east." Label the rows and columns clearly.
- Picture math: shell + shell = 6. It's algebra without the scary letters.
- Logic order: "the skull goes first, the shell goes last" tells players where each digit goes.
Rule of thumb: every puzzle needs one "aha" and a hint ladder: nudge, then bigger help, then the full solution.
